What We Do

Service projects

One of our most important goals is to build an awareness of the needs around us and provide opportunities for Ukrainians to meet those needs in various ways.  We also encourage members of our New Generation community to serve each other in practical ways.

After-school clubs

This is a great way to help kids develop their talents and interests and build relationships and values at the same time.  Throughout the year our clubs include sports such as soccer, basketball, and running, and other activities like art, sewing, chess, and dance.

English-language learning

We run several sessions of small group English classes for adults each year.  We also provide various opportunities for kids to learn, develop, and use their English-language skills.

Cultural exchange

The multi-cultural makeup of our staff allows for an important exchange of ideas, traditions, values, and understandings that gives us a unique atmosphere and opportunity for our New Generation community to think outside the box and look at life differently.

Mentoring

Through small group and one-on-one activities we try to build relationships with children and their families and lead by example.

Discipleship and training

Through opportunities like Bible studies and a prayer group for moms, we are investing in the spiritual growth of our staff, volunteers, and families.  We also provide ongoing training opportunities for our staff and volunteers to grow spiritually, relationally, and professionally.

Special needs opportunities

We are currently in the process of developing opportunities to meet the needs of children with special needs and their families in our area.  Our desire is to create awareness of special needs in our community and opportunities for children of all abilities to learn and develop together.

NG family events

Every year we host at least several large events for our New Generation families.  This is a great way to help people get to know each other and build community.

Influence education

The educational system in Ukraine is still heavily influenced by soviet mentality and methodology, and it is our desire to help bring change.  We train our staff and volunteers in 20th century educational strategies and worldview understanding, and implement this knowledge through learning opportunities.  We hope to develop this area to include training and practical experience for university students who are studying education.
