We believe that the God-given responsibility for raising and educating children belongs first and foremost to parents. In choosing to send their children to New Generation, parents choose to delegate a large part of that responsibility to the teachers and staff of the school. We encourage parents to join our school only if they are ready to form a partnering relationship with us in the pursuit of the educational goals listed below.
At New Generation we believe that all truth is created by God. Through the teaching of subject material from a biblical point of view and daily interaction based on Christian values, we desire to help students understand the world as God created it and see their place in it. For this reason, all of the teachers and other staff at the school are Christians who have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and are continually developing and applying their biblical worldview.
Modern educational research has shown that students learn and develop differently, and that effective classroom education should include a variety of instructional methods. At New Generation, we are committed to using modern ideas to address the needs of various students and help them develop and succeed academically.
- Whenever possible, teachers involve a variety of different teaching styles in their lessons, including traditional lecturing as well as hands-on activities and the use of multi-media.
- Teachers strive to make the material interesting for students and cater to the different personalities and learning styles in the classroom.
- Rather than relying on competition to motivate learning, students are encouraged to work hard and do their best in order to please God.
At New Generation we believe that the quality of the information taught is more important than the quantity. Rather than pushing the memorization of many facts, we attempt to teach material in a way that promotes critical thinking, knowledge discovery, and long-lasting information retention. Using certified Ukrainian and American curriculum as a guideline, teachers have the freedom to add, subtract, adapt, or change the order of the material as they teach. Teachers are encouraged to use learning methods and activities that make the subject material interesting and involve the use of multiple senses in the learning process. They may also choose to spend more time in one content area and less in another, as needs of the class and time allow. We believe that such an approach to education will result in more effective long-term learning than the traditional approach used by most schools in Ukraine.
Christian – New Generation is first and foremost a Christian school. All aspects of the school program and atmosphere are founded on a biblical worldview.
All subjects are taught from a biblical perspective, rather than the secular perspective usually found in public schools, allowing students to learn about and see the world as God created and sees it.
Staff and teachers strive to relate to students and families according to biblical principles, making the atmosphere a safe and enjoyable place for children to learn.
Teachers work not just to impart knowledge to students, but to prepare them to use their knowledge and abilities to serve God with their lives.
Dual language program - Students have the opportunity to complete both American and Ukrainian educational programs at the same time, preparing them for a successful life in the modern world.
Students study English not as a second language, but instead learn English as they complete American educational courses in an English-speaking setting.
After several years, students should speak, read, and write in English at the level and understanding of a native speaker.
Students who continue to complete the requirements for both programs in upper school may have the opportunity to earn both American and Ukrainian diplomas.
Small class sizes - Classes are limited to 12 students. This allows teachers to spend more time individually addressing the needs of different students in two language programs.
Non-traditional – New Generation is not currently licensed by the government, giving us the flexibility to choose our own philosophy and educational goals, curriculum, and teaching methods. This also allows teachers to spend time and energy on the educational process, rather than paperwork required by the government. Our students are enrolled in a licensed ‘externat’ program, whose representatives evaluate our students and provide necessary documents at the end of the school year.
Independent • Independent – Our school is not connected to any one church or denomination. We are open to all who are ready to accept our goals and values.
We recognize the historical Christian faith as defined by the Scriptures.
